X-Men (2000)

Evolution of one life form in another - slow process which takes thousands of years, but sometimes there are sharp changes leading to emergence of so-called mutants with special characteristics and abilities. In the world where there live both ordinary people, and mutants, professor Charles Xavier having ability to control thoughts and actions of others very much tries to reach peaceful co-existence of two types, hoping that gifted students of its institute use the forces for the good. But his old friend and the superhuman antagonist Magneto prepares for war with people because of the new law.

In the U. S. Congress senator Robert Kelly tries to adopt "The law on registration of mutants" which has to force meta-people to open publicly the persons and abilities. Meanwhile the girl Roug finds out that her touches kill people, absorbing their energy. Wishing to save relatives from himself, it runs away from the house. In Canada she meets other mutant the Glutton which possesses fast regeneration and sliding adamant claws. It - only which can sustain the terrible strength of the girl. New mutants appear in the center of fierce confrontation which either will stop, or will open a new era in the history of homo superior.
