It turned out that everything that happened was influenced by a scandal that happened not so long ago in the family. The police began to investigate the circumstances under which Anna died. The investigators came to a consensus that everything happened purely by accident. There is no need for a criminal background here if it is necessary to deal with more important matters. It seemed to Artyom that his wife had drowned through his fault. There was no way he could have prevented it. Their last dialogue was a quarrel.
