Pardes (1997)

A person who lives in America is Kishorilal, conducts his successful business there, and lives, not denying himself anything, one day, having come to such an opinion that it's time to return to his homeland. The main character himself has Indian roots, from which the customs of that people are embedded in his upbringing. The thing is that he has a son Rajiv. This boy grew up in the West since childhood, from which his upbringing is very different from what his father was taught. Realizing that the son is far from the culture of his people, Kishorilal decides to go with his son to his native lands. There, the father plans to find a decent Indian wife for his child, who will be able to instill in Rajiv the mentality of his nation. This man was able to find a truly worthy daughter-in-law for his son. Coming to his best friend's house one day, Kishorilal pays attention to his daughter Kusum Ganga, who is ideally suited for the role of a bride. Now it remains for a small matter, to have a wedding. After the ceremony, the newlyweds return to America, where they will continue their love story.
